Early in the pandemic, back when we were all optimistic it would end in three weeks — those were the days, right? — I decided to make a hardwood desk caddy for work. And, while I was at it, I thought I’d try to make three. One of them I made from hickory — that was to be mine. The other two were made from some Chinese Sumac I got somewhat cheap.
Well, the hickory version went together swimmingly. The other two were a little more challenging, but they came together, augmented with some plywood for the drawers. Unfortunately, I was not a fan of the Chinese Sumac and will never work with it again.
Either way, though I made the hickory version for my desk at work, I never took it in — I actually took in a pair of other boxes to do what I wanted it for. Which makes the hickory version surplus to my needs. If you have a good home for it, you can get it here. If you’d rather not go through Etsy for it, email me and we’ll work something else out.
As fort he Chinese Sumac version, I’m not sure what I want to do with them. If you have interest and don’t want to pay $250 for a hickory version, email me and we can work it out.
